Researchers

We have a long history of collaborating with researchers, including students at the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels.

PhD Level Researchers

We regularly collaborate with PhD level researchers from numerous educational and professional institutions on grants, publications, and presentations, as well as pilot work.

Check out our Current Research Projects page to learn more about our current and past research projects.

The Eugenie and Joseph Doyle Research Partnership Fund

The Center’s Eugenie and Joseph Doyle Research Partnership Fund (the “DRP”) sponsors early-career scientists to conduct collaborative pilot research with VNS Health researchers and clinicians, typically distributing an RFP each spring. In addition to fostering new collaborative teams, and establishing or strengthening the awardee’s program of research generally, the DRP aims to fund preliminary studies whose findings have potential both for publication in peer-reviewed journals and to support the preliminary study section of future, larger applications for federal funding. The focus of the collaborative work ultimately is to produce findings that improve or inform the improvement of care quality, independence, and quality of life for vulnerable populations. Students & Interns

Many students have collaborated with the Center for Home Care Policy & Research for school-related research projects, both utilizing our resources, including datasets, to enable their research goals, and also gaining valuable “real-world” experience conducting research in tandem with and under the mentorship of our experienced team members.

If you are a student and interested in working with us, learning more about opportunities, or have questions for us otherwise, please contact us to get involved.

If you are interested in an internship for credit or experience, please contact us .

We have had student interns in the social science and health services fields, as well as students studying administration, finance, accounting, and computer science.

Volunteers

We are fortunate to have had many volunteers work with the Research Center. This is a great opportunity for those who may not be able to commit to regular hours, or are simply interested in learning more.

If you are considering a career in research or research administration, volunteering is the easiest and most flexible way to get started!

Volunteers usually start working at the Research Center on basic administration and research tasks, but in many cases, have graduated into per diem and even full-time positions that became available, and in most cases, are given increasing responsibilities and opportunities over time.

Please contact us and tell us about your situation and if you are interested in volunteering.

Health Professionals

We often make presentations to health professionals in addition to research scientists, and our work at the Research Center also regularly includes evaluations and policy recommendations relating to “real-world” health services programs.

Please contact us if you are interested in having one of our researchers present to your group or if you manage a health services program that needs a scientific evaluation or policy recommendation.

Donors

Donations to the Center for Home Care Policy & Research are used to support our activities and to fund our team members in the completion of pilot and exploratory research projects.
